Why iron supplements become so important?

Iron supplements is one of important health supplements. Regarding to my previous writing “Five top health supplements”, iron supplements is essential to the health and functioning of the body. Deficiencies in iron can have serious consequences for overall health and even energy levels. However, world wide, many people do not meet the minimum suggested daily intake of iron.

Iron deficiencies can cause a variety of health problems. Anemia is by far the most common and it results in feeling tired both mentally and physically. Anemia occurs when you do not have enough red blood cells needed by your body for energy production.

Women, because of their role in reproduction, need to be especially sure that their iron levels are sufficient especially during pregnancy as the healthy growth and development of their babies depends on it. Because of blood loss during menstruation, most women need to take a little extra precaution during that time period to make sure their iron levels stay at recommended levels.

However, like any other dietary supplement or medicine, iron supplements must be used properly to be effective and to avoid inducing other serious health problems. A little suggestion to have better absorbtion, always take iron supplement with ascorbic acid or vitamin C.

Weight gainers are protein shakes with a high calorie base in the form of carbs along with 30-40 grams of protein for the majority of the products in the market. They are best when used for the mid-morning, mid-afternoon and post workout meals as the carbohydrate content is of a fast released nature. They can be mixed with fruit juice or skim milk, and in order to increase the calorie content the use of flaxseed oil and fruits is invaluable.
